The Earth Lords

Boundless, the breathless desert
Summons each grain to a voracious feast
Lifeless the grasslands lay scorched to death
Voiceless the spirit of the sand
Places a curse of fury
And a notice of banishment
On the sons of the sun

Soundless the hooves drum
Ordained to posses wherever it treads
For the soils are theirs
And the fullness thereof
Sparkless will the skies be today
For the swarm shall graze
Be it blood or foliage

Heartless the Mbororo raids
For milk is thicker than blood
Bleats esteemed over a deathless childish babble
Worthless a soul is to beef
Mindless a graze is claimed
Under the ruthless watch of violence
Another night yet another songless dirge

The Devil's Bride

I do not understand
Why the sun had to rise
In the chilly dawn
Why the moonlight is here so soon
The stars taste like sour grapes
And the morning
I may never see again

I do not understand
Why I have no choice
And years could not
Bear me witness
As age raped the
Voice out of me
My heart baked so early

I do not understand
What I think I know
How evil births righteousness
And dogma stampedes logic
Even if the sun will raze the earth
The young petals die so quickly
Withered in the heat of doctrines

They all merry in this fog
As the lion comes for the cub
His finger my wrist
The knuckles on my chest to suckle
Tonight will the sea pour into the dam
Yet I will not cry
For the law I shall poison

Ploughed

Like a land readied for a planting season
So do I feel cultivated
With seeds of celebrated afflictions
I carry a scar of identity
Carved by this brutal sculptor
My infantile pleas ignored
Verdict tradition had passed

Cursed be the blades
That dug fierce furrows on my face
For a crime of ancestry at conception
My face a papyrus for cursive hieroglyphs
Now I revile the mirrors
And ignore my reflections
Am comforted by my shadows

Every day I rue the ridicule
The pathetic jeers and stares
At the graphs plotted on my face
Six dual lanes on a human cheek
Slices and cracks
Civilization came late
For this eternal mask I must wear
